My Christmas Traditions and Memories
The 7th day!!!
Everyone has their own traditions and most people have Christmas traditions. In today's post I am going to be telling you about my Christmas traditions and memories and I hope to hear about some of yours in the comments below.
Every year when we put up the Christmas tree we get out the decorations and look at them, remembering where and how we got them.
We have a homemade plastic Robin that perches on a log that is placed on a load of cotton wool in a tray. Honestly looking at that it sounds like a load of rubbish but it is special because I made it (with help) when I was in playgroup.
We also have a snow globe that my dad brought my mum one Christmas. It is so pretty and it plays we wish you a merry Christmas after you wind it up at the bottom.
When we put up the Christmas tree we either listen to Christmas songs or watch a Christmas film while messing around. I remember one year when I was about 6 or 7 wondering around eating a kiwi!
This tradition stopped a couple of years ago but when me and my sister were younger we used to go outside into the front garden with a hot chocolate, a hot water bottle, a blanket and a coat. We would sit in the boot of the car while watching our dad put in the Christmas lights whilst our mum would grip on the the ladder hoping dad wouldn't fall.
You can't see it very well but in front of my calender are a bunch of wind up Christmas toys from Christmas crackers that we have collected over the years.
Another one that you can't see very well but I got this when I was in year one. It comes out every year and is not only displayed but I used to carry it about. One year I lost is and cried for ages so we drove back to the park and found it next to the curb.
I got this at my last primary school Christmas fair. I won it in the tombola. It used to sung we wish you a merry Christmas but it's getting a bit old so it is faint and misses out a little bit and makes an odd sound. I guess it's just a decoration now then!!
These are a few of my Christmas traditions and memories! Hope you enjoyed!
Love you all xoxo
