Product Review: Makeup Revolution Newtrals 2
As it is approaching Summer and I am starting to enjoy pink eyeshadow again. I'm not against pink eyeshadow during other seasons, I just prefer darker colours during colder weather. It's like lipstick; I reorganise my collection depending on the time of year.
Recently I picked up the Makeup Revolution Newtrals 2, which I've seen a lot of people talk about recently. I wasn't thinking of buying it until I saw what it actually looked like in person after my friend purchased it. It wasn't that I was uninterested, I just didn't want to purchase something that was so hyped up and then write a blog post about it, because that's what I've seen everyone else do. That just seems like a trend, and most of the reviews just seem the same.
However, after using it, I decided to write about it, like everyone else. I had too. I have so much to say about this product, nothing negative. Which is something I never seem to do, because usually I only really write about something I have actually enjoyed, and this is one of those things.
The colours in this palette are ones I could see myself using any time of year. They range from light pinks, to dark with browns and burnt oranges. And there is also a white.
I didn't write a post about it straight away, and this might be a bit late when most bloggers and youtubers have already reviewed it. However, I wanted to use it a few times, to create a few looks so I could share a truly honest review.
So, is it worth the hype?
Absolutely. The colours are extremely pigmented- even the shimmers which can sometimes apply quite sparse- and they are really easy to blend. One of the colours I found most impressive was the white. Sometimes white eyeshadows just don't seem to show up, however this one is super pigmented and it creates a great base or as part of the look itself- I like to use it for a cut crease (though I'm still practising).
The colours aren't arranged in a particular order, which may bother some people and I may be one of those people to a certain extent. While this arrangement doesn't effect me too much and I can still tell the lighted colours from the darker ones, I would prefer them to flow from light to dark. But that is my only fault with this palette.
The packaging is pretty simple, nothing majorly special, but it does the job. It doesn't seem flimsy and I think that it should be quite sturdy. The eyeshadows are a decent size and if they are as deep as the packaging itself, I think that they should last quite well.
I love how different the colours are. Although the browns down vary to much, they still have their own qualities- one may appear slightly dark while another may have an orange undertone. The pinks however are all pretty different (some can't really be classed as pink, but for the sake of describing how the palette is organised that is how I will refer to them).
There are slightly peachy pinks, orange toned shades and almost burgundy colours.

This palette is definitely affordable, I got it from Superdrug for £4. It is unlikely to break the band and it is completely worth its price. The eyeshadows are such high quality, I think I'd mistake it for something of a higher value.
To take the photographs of the swatches I used the flash to show how pigmented they are. I found that the camera on my phone didn't do them justice and they weren't true to colour, however, when I used the flash I found that the colours were more like what I could see on my arm.

One trouble I have with eyeshadows is them appearing more pigmented when you apply them with your finger, but more difficult to blend and less pigmented with a brush, but easier to blend. That was one thing that I didn't have with this palette. I think that you could use either to apply them and still get the same quality.
The eyeshadows are almost creamy when you apply them. They are powder, but they don't feel like it. They glide on easily and although you may notice them crumble slightly, that is only when you use your brush a bit too forcefully. Which leads to another good thing about them. You don't need too much on your brush. One swipe seems to collect so much colour, which is a quality I haven't found in an eyeshadow until this palette.
I that this palette would be really good for travelling. Although it isn't the smallest, it has enough variety to create a different eye-look everyday for a week and the colours are so varied that you aren't just taking an eyeshadow palette focused around one theme.
Hopefully this wasn't too mainstream and mediocre, but it was too good now to write about.
Hope you enjoyed!
Love You All xoxo
