Recipe for Double Chocolate Chip Cookies!
So today I made some cookies and decided to share with you the recipe and the outcome of my double chocolate chip cookies!
So first you need to wash your hands, although I think you all know that, and pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius(c) or gas mark 4!
You will need 200 grams of softened butter, 300 grams of soft brown sugar, 2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 2 eggs, 300 grams of self raising flour (and I know you usually use plain flour for cookies but these cookies are supposed to rise slightly and be quite chunky) 80 grams of cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and 300 grams of chocolate chips, but I couldn't find any chocolate chips so I used 2 110 grams bars of Cadburys dairy milk.

Also, to save time whilst cooking prepare your baking tray! If like me you check your cupboards only to discover that you have no baking parchment/paper, you can try out this little trick that me mum taught me. If you have a cooking oil spray like fry light, spray the tray three times per tray (I ended up using 4 trays!) then sprinkle some flour onto the trays and shake the trays lightly to make sure that the whole/most of the tray has a covering of flour! This works for me, I'd be interested to see if it works for anyone else!
once you've weighed out your ingredients, add the butter and sugar into a bowl and cream/combine them together until they have formed a light, fluffy mixture!

You then need to add the vanilla extract and the two eggs to the butter and sugar mix and beat them until they have combined and formed a light mixture. (Make sure that the mixture is not liquid!)
After you have completed that you will need to sift the flour, baking powder and the cocoa powder into a separate bowl. You can use a spoon to help you sift the flour or you can pat the side of the sieve!

Then add the sifted flour, baking powder and cocoa powder to the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla extract mixture a third at a time and mix in until the powder is completely combined, you then add the next third and repeat until you have a completed mixture!
Once you have done this add the chocolate chunks to the mixture and lightly fold them in!
When that is completed you take a spoon full of mixture and allow it to fall off the spoon and onto the tray. There is no need to force it off the spoon, just allow it to drop. Spread the cookies out slightly,They don't really spread out that much but it's just in case! I made slightly larger cookies so I ended up making four trays worth of cookies, so I had to put two trays in the oven followed my the next two trays!
You need to put the cookies into the oven for 12 minutes!!!
Once your cookies come out of the oven you need to leave the cookies on the baking tray to cool as once they are removed they will still be soft and they will continue to cook slightly! But me and my mum helped ourselves to some warm cookies and they were really nice!!
I'm not often pleased with what I make so if I love it, it usually means it is quite good!
So altogether I made 18 large tasty, chocolatey cookies, and If you halve the size of the cookie mix you put onto the tray you could possibly make 36 cookies, which is a lot! I'm a complete chocoholic so I can quite easily eat two of these but they can be a bit sickly so most people would probably only want one. They are delicious served warm with ice cream!
So have a go, make these cookies and let me know what you think of them and post a picture of your cookies!!
Love you all xoxo

If, like me, you are using a bar of chocolate make sure to chop the chocolate as you a weighing out your ingredients so that you don't have to do this in the middle of cooking! (Cut the squares of chocolate in half to create smaller chunks and more chocolate pieces in your cookies!)
