Revision tips
I promised a post today and although it is rather late I came through. I have had no suggestions for blog posts as of yet and I find it highly unlikely that I shall; but luckily I have a few blog posts thought of before I go hassling my sister for ideas!
I am having to begin my revision, especially in maths, because the exams start in about 3 months. So if you are having to take exams, whatever they are, here are a few tips to help you-
1. Focus yourself- If you are an individual reviser then sit in a quiet room with no distractions, or if you are like me then you listen to music to focus play either your favourite songs or any other music that you feel helps you focus. If you are listening to music try to make sure you are not an easily distracted person.
2. Find out what helps you revise best- whether it is mind-maps, flash cards, power points or quizzes, prepare your resources in advance but make sure that they help you.
3. Friends and family- I find it helpful when my mum and sister go through things with me. They often read out key points and quiz me to help me understand. Try getting your friends and family to help you!
4. Highlight- sometimes I do get carried away doing this, but try highlighting key words and information.
5. Talking to yourself- it sounds strange but I feel that if you read things aloud to yourself then you can process it in a different way and it can be pretty help full... just try not to do this in your exam.
6. Ask for help- teachers are there to not only teach you but help you revise. Ask your teacher to go through things with you or help you make learning resources.
7. Create a revision timetable- this helps you to organise yourself and your revision.
8. Exam papers- try completing some so you have the idea of how to answer questions, I'm sure teacher will help you check or after completing it try to find the mark scheme.
9. Around the house- stick your revision notes around the house so you will see some everywhere you go and they will get stuck in your head!
10. Pace yourself- don't over revise, give yourself a break and a chance to breathe as revising to much can cause you to panic and also feel like you are struggling to remember.

I hope these tips help!
