Chocolate Brownie Recipe

Yesterday I decided that I really wanted to do some baking.... and I wanted chocolate; So I scanned pintrest and google trying to find a recipe that I could use. I ended up combining two different recipes and adding an ingredient (although there are probably some recipes that are actually exactly the same).

I decided, upon really enjoying the brownies, that I would share the recipe with you! (I apologise for the awful images)

Ingredients-

100g Butter

40g Cadbury's Cocoa powder

225g Caster Sugar

2 Free-Range Eggs

1 tsp Vanilla Essence

50g Self-Raising Flour

A bar of Cadbury's chocolate or any other chocolate bar/chips....

Method-

1. Pre-heat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius or Gas mark 3. Grease/line a tin with foil (you can use baking parchment but foil is better.)

2. In a pan, melt the butter over a low heat, stirring continuously with a wooden spoon. Once it has completely melted, remove it from the heat and stir in the cocoa until it is a smooth mixture. Leave it to cool.

3. In a bowl, beat the sugar and eggs together using either an electric mixer or a hand held electric whisk (you won't get the same result if you whisk it by hand). Beat it continuously for minutes before checking the consistency before continuing the process if the mixture isn't thick and light.

4. Add the chocolate and butter mix to the eggs and sugar, and stir gently until it is fully combined. Add the vanilla essence and mix well.

5. Sift the flour into the chocolate mix and fold it in gently until the flour is no longer visible. Chop/break the chocolate into different sized pieces and add them to the mixture (if you are using chocolate chips just sprinkle them in) and fold them in.

6. Pour the mixture into your tin and bake for 20-25 minutes.

7. once they have finished baking place a cake tester or a knife into the centre of the brownies and if it comes out clean then the brownies are done. Cut the brownies into squares whilst they are still warm (because if you are like me you will love the pieces of melted chocolate) and place them onto cooling rack.

I hope you enjoy!

            Love you all xoxo

(If you do make them then you can tag me in the pictures on instagram (@beautifulblog17) so I can see all of your creations!! Hopefully you can make them more attractive than I did!)
