7 Things I Wish I'd Known Before I Started Blogging...
It's been a long time since I posted, but I didn't quite realise how long it would take me to make the changes to my blog. I didn't realise how indecisive I actually was... I couldn't decide on a name, or a layout, or a font... and if have a blog yourself you may understand how difficult it is to get it perfect.
But I am finally happy with my blog and so here I am!
And with that first note, I decided to stick with a similar topic...
7 things I wish I'd known before I started blogging...
How difficult it would be to take interesting, relevant photographs
When I first started blogging, and I guess still to this day, my photographs were awful. They were poor quality (sometimes they still are), I never understood what a flat lay was (and even though I do now, I didn't think I am getting them right) and sometimes the photographs weren't even relevant to what I was talking about (something I think I have definitely improved on).
How important photographs would be to a blog post
Sometimes, I wouldn't even add photographs to my blog posts. Photographs are essential to a blog- they show what you are talking about, they make it more interesting and they tie a blog post together!
How difficult it would be to chose and create interesting topics for my blog
I really struggle to find topics that I think would be interesting and that would attract people to my blog. I think that when you write a blog, although you do have to write for your audience, you also have to write for yourself. You have to pick topics that you find interesting and that you will enjoy writing about!
How difficult it would be to find the time to blog
I struggle to find the time to blog, which you may be able to tell if you look back at how little I posted last year. I struggle to find the time between college and homework. However, I don't mind this- for me, it doesn't add stress but helps me relax, a break from reality. Although, I feel that as soon as I get a couple of readers, I take a break and I loose them.
How important this blog could be to supporting my future career
I didn't realise how helpful having a blog would be. I've been told on University open days that it shows how much I want to go into the field of Journalism, and it looks really good on a personal statement!
How awful my spelling and grammar was
Looking back, I think I may need to edit. I really wish I'd had someone to proof read for me!
How helpful having a blog would be
I don't just mean helpful in the sense of University. It also helps me relax, take a break and just write. I love writing, it allows me to express myself in a way I might not be able to otherwise!
So, I'm back.
And I'm hoping that I'll find the time to blog a lot more!
Love you all xoxo
