What's in my hand luggage?

I recently returned from a family holiday to Zante and I decided to do an updated version of my last 'What's in my hand luggage?' I decided to share what I had in my hand luggage as I found these kinds of posts and video's both helpful and interesting when I was deciding what to take with me.

In this post I will be giving you a (mostly) brief introduction to the products I carried with me, however if there are any products that you would like me to review, then feel free to ask.

I took the photographs as I was packing to return home, so one or two items that are listed below did not actually go into my hand luggage as I had already used them for the holiday, however I think that
I have included everything that I there with me even if it wasn't needed for the return flight.

First of all, this is the bag I took with me. It is from Primark and I got it for £14.

There are two sections to the bag- the main pocket and a zipped up section at the bottom of the bag. I kept the things that I wouldn't need immediately in the bottom section and things that I might need in the airport and when going through security in the top section. There were a few things that I kept in my jacket pockets, those were the things that I thought I might need, or want, to hand quickly.

- Blanket Scarf

I remembered from my last flight that I got quite cold, so I decided to take a blanket scarf as I thought I would be able to wrap it around myself, or even place it (rolled up) around my neck if I decided to go to sleep.

- Socks

Again, as I got cold last time I decided to take some soft socks to keep my feet warm as I used them last time.

- Cushion

I didn't sleep the night before heading to the airport because I had to leave the house at 2 am and my plane departed at 6:30 am, so I took a cushion so that I would be able to sleep comfortably if I needed to.

- Water bottle

I took an empty water bottle so that I  could attempt to fill it up (which I didn't manage to do) before my flight as I got quite thirsty last time and drinks in the airport are expensive. It was also a good idea to take if for my holiday as I always had a drink to hand.

- Shopping bag

I took a reusable shopping bag, in this case one of my favourite tote bags, in my main bag so that once I had gone through security I could make a quicker transition from the trays to my bag because I didn't have to spend time repacking everything; just in case I was in a rush. I also packed it so that I could carry anything I bought or to put my jacket in if I got too hot.

First of all, it may seem like I am carrying a lot of electronics, however I don't trust them to be safe in my suitcase, and I was trying to do blog stuff and University prep on the plane.

- Headphones

I took my headphones as I like to have them on if I am watching a film or a TV show. I tend to prefer (especially on long journeys) to wear these when I am awake.

- Headphone Splitter

I took a headphone splitter so that me and my sister would be able to watch things on the same device with out having one earbud each.

I got mine here!

- PSP

I took my PSP so that I was able to watch films or play games during the flight. We'd also read reviews about there not being anything but news channels on the TV's in the hotel room so I took mine so that we were able to have movie nights if we wanted to.

- Phone

I don't think I need to explain why I took my phone, it's kind of obvious.

- Waterproof Camera

I took my waterproof camera because I though that I could possibly see some interesting things in the sea, especially considering there were Loggerhead turtles. Unfortunately, I didn't see any however my mum did manage to photograph one.

- Samsung Tablet

I took my tablet because that has backup books (in case I finished the book I took with me) and I wrote a few blog posts and notes on it while I was away.

- Writing Book

I took this with me because sometimes I get an urge to write, sometimes this might be fiction other times it might be non-fiction, but I love to put pen to paper and watch the words pour onto the page.

-Diary

I received this diary for Christmas, and as I turned 18 in October I decided that I wanted to keep track of my year and keep reminders in it; I've carried it pretty much everywhere since I got it.

-Book

I took a book because I prefer to read the hard copy of a book to the electronic version. There is just something special about having an actual book. I wanted a book that I would be able to read on the plane, by the pool and on the beach- something that I know I love- so I decided to take 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix' as it is one of my favourites.

-Earphones

As well as taking headphones, I also took my earphones. This is because I like to use these if I want to sleep and I prefer to use these if I want to listen to music by the pool or on the beach.

-Sunglasses

I decided to keep my sunglasses in my bag so that I had them to hand when I got off of the plane. These ones are from Primark and although they don't look like it in the photograph they are actually a rose gold kind of colour.

I decided to take some makeup so that if I slept on the plane, or just got off looking tired, I could brighten myself up a bit and feel a bit more awake.

- Bronzer

I took my MUA bronzer to add a little colour to my face, because I usually look quite pale when I haven't slept properly.

You can get it here!

- Makeup Brushes

Because I need brushes to apply powder makeup.

- Powder

I took powder so that I would be able to set my concealer if I needed to.

-Mirror

I took a mirror, in this case my Sleek contour kit, so that I would be able to see what I was doing if I needed to put on makeup or any skin care products.

These are the products that I put into my liquids bag as I needed to separate them from my bag when going through security.

- Inhalers

Because I have asthma and I tend to carry them everywhere.

-Evian Facial Mist

Because if you get hot or your face feels dry it is quite nice to use a facial mist to freshen up. Although if you are going to use a facial mist in an aerosol can or with a powerful spray and you are sitting by a stranger then I would recommend that you use it in the bathroom.

You can get it here!

- Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Intensive Moisturising Hand Treatment

Because aeroplanes can dry your skin out and I find that it is quite nice to apply hand cream and other moisturisers.

- Nivea Soft Moisturiser

Again, aeroplanes can dry your skin out so it is nice to keep your skin hydrated.

You can get it here!

-Mascara

Because, if I wanted to wear makeup then I would use mascara as I find that it makes me look more awake as it almost seems to widen my eyes.

- Murad Environmental Shield Essential C Day Moisture SPF 30

I took an SPF moisturiser as it is a good product to use to protect your skin and I particularly like it, however this will be featured in a upcoming review so I will explain why I like it in that post.

- Nivea Lip balm

Because again, aeroplanes are drying and dry lips aren't pleasant.

- Benefit Gimme Brow

Because I like to set my eyebrows in place and give them shape, even when I am doing basic makeup.

- Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

Because I was awake all night and I though that I might have bags to cover and skin that could need brightening.

- Roller ball Perfume

Because I like to smell nice and I find that wearing perfume makes me feel fresher.

- Nivea Deodorant

Because airports can get hot, especially when you are rushing, and if you get anxious you may get a little sweaty so it makes you feel a bit better once you've freshened up.

- thisworks In Transit Camera Close Up Mask, Moisturiser & Primer

Because it moisturises and primes in one so it is a useful product to apply underneath makeup.

- Body Fantasies Perfume Body Spray Pink Grapefruit Fantasy

Because again I like to smell nice and I find citrus scents refreshing.

You can find it here!

These products were also kept in my liquids bag.

- Primark PS... Sun Protect SPF 30 Sun Spray

I didn't have this on the way home, but I took it with me on the way there so that I had some protection immediately. This was such a good product, but it will feature in another blog post so I will explain in that why I liked it so much.

- Dr.PAWPAW Original Clear Balm

Ever since I received this in a lookfantastic box, I've taken it everywhere. It is so useful, however I mainly use it on my lips or to protect and seal any cuts.

You can get it here!

These items, not including the eye mask, were also kept in my liquids bag.

- Eye Mask

Because if I wanted to sleep I'd have to block out the light.

- Botanics relaxing Roller ball with Lavender

Because I get quite anxious and this scent calms me.

You can get it here!

- Champneys Heavenly Days Sleep Temple Balm

Because the scent of this combined with the lavender is something that I've found really soothing.

You can get it here!

- Passport Holder

I used this to keep my passport, ID, cards, money, euros and my boarding pass in one place, it was extremely useful.

- Watch

I don't know if I need to explain why I took my watch...

I kept all of these items in my 'first aid' pouch.

- Plasters

Because sometimes I get hurt.

- Herbal Stress Relief Tablets

Because I get anxious and sometimes I need these to calm myself a little, however I will go into more detail about this in another blog post.

-Hayfever Tablets

Because my Hayfever and asthma are linked- its better to be same than sorry.

- Painkillers

Just in case, you never know when you might need them.

- Makeup Remover Wipes

In case I needed to freshen up.

- All Purpose Wipes

In case I needed to wipe or clean anything up.

-Anti-sickness Tablets

Because sometimes I get travel sickness.

- Kool 'N' Soothe Migraine

Because sometimes I get headaches and I find these really relieving and I really like the scent of them, I find that they work really well.

Other things that I took...

- Support Bandage

Because I have quite weak joints and in the past I've sprained my ankle by just walking down the street.

- My Camera

So that I could take photographs both for myself and for my blog.

- Hair Bands

Because I might need tie my hair up.

It may seem like I am over packing, but I like to be prepared and I feel that it is better to have too much than too little.

I hope up enjoyed and that you make have found this helpful.

Love you all xoxo
